Cache Valley’s Ancient Floods and Earthquakes

Cache Valley, Utah and Idaho, along with the surrounding areas, have a fascinating geological history. Geologist Susanne Jänecke will describe our region’s “rocky” history, including how ancient volcanoes in Gem Valley, as well as Lake Bonneville and active faults, impacted Cache Valley. She will discuss earthquakes along Cache Valley’s active faults. Meet in-person at CVUU or online through Zoom on Sunday at 10:00 AM. Masks are not required, but are welcome.

Finding Hope in Dry and Uncertain Times

Finding hope in these times of pandemic, global change, and social unrest can be challenging. This Sunday we will explore how we might be inspired by and find hope in science and art. We will use science to explore the resiliency of dry streams and will explore how art provides us with ways to feel and express the complexity of these intermittent times. Speaker Jennifer Courtwright has been a member of First UU in San Antonio since 2018 and chairs the adult religious education committee.
