Water Communion

This Sunday’s Water Communion service will be led by Jo Leary.

Bring a cup of water from a special place to share (it’s not required).

Throughout the year, some members of CVUU have collected small amounts of water that has meaning for them, either from a special location (e.g., the family home, an ocean or river, memento of a trip) or a special occasion (first rain after a dry spell). At our water communion service, the samples of water are poured together in a single bowl so they can merge. The combined water is symbolic of our shared faith coming from many different sources.

The Water Communion Service is an excellent opportunity for Unitarian Universalist congregations to express their commitment to our Sixth Principle: We covenant to affirm and promote the goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all.

Meet in person at CVUU or online through Zoom on Sunday at 10:00 AM.
