Hootenany, Potluck and Planning

Get ready to sing your heart out and/or play your instrument if you have one (tambourine, maracas, accordion, ukulele, or whatever). CVUU is excited to bring back our fun hootenanny. All are welcome to bring instruments and song ideas (within reason), and all levels of singing expertise are encouraged to join in for this raucous good time. Bring a potluck dish to share if you are willing and able. If not, we hope you will come anyway! The definition must provide a pathway for its discovery. The subject has led to a new active branch of scientific endeavor, combining biology, chemistry, and physics. There are now technical meetings and theoretical and experimental research into this emergent field. The principal reference is Sara Imari … Continue reading Life as No One Knows It: The Physics of Life’s Emergence

Reclaiming the Stories of Jesus

There are many voices that use scripture as proof their view on morality or virtue or the world is the only right way. But the truth is, we all approach these texts with our own lenses and experiences. And when we include history and context, we can get a better understanding of the intent of the original message of the story. I’ve taken a few stories that have been weaponized to justify harm in certain communities and reclaimed them to mean something different for me. And I want to share that with you. Meet in person at CVUU or online through Zoom on Sunday at 10:00 AM.
