Welcome Corps with Cache Refugee Immigrant Connection

CVUU has been invited to take part in an exciting new service opportunity for groups interested in welcoming refugees to Cache Valley. Welcome Corps empowers everyday citizens to welcome refugees arriving through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). CVUU members and friends would provide the support and resources that refugees need to become self-sufficient in our community.

The Welcome Corps is an exciting service opportunity to welcome refugees seeking freedom and safety. This new federal program empowers everyday Americans to support refugees for the first 90 days of their resettlement in the U.S. Working in groups of at least 5 individuals, sponsor groups provide practical support alongside hope, possibility, and a sense of belonging. As a sponsor, you provide the support and resources that refugees need to become self-sufficient in their new communities. This includes fundraising and a commitment to helping newcomers with core resettlement services like housing and transportation, education, employment and benefits, English language learning, and connecting to their new communities. Sponsor groups will be supported along the way by organizations like Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection. You can change a life- including your own. Meet in person at CVUU or online through Zoom on Sunday at 10:00 AM.
