At our July 26 CVUU service, we will explore the recent transition by the UUA from our seven principles to “Our Shared Unitarian Universalist Values.” Building on the foundation of love, the UU values are generosity, transformation, equity, pluralism, interdependence, and justice.
What is the reasoning behind this significant change? Specifically, what impact will this have on both our secular and church lives? Is there a meaningful distinction between our familiar and beloved principles and the newly proposed values?
Jay Black (media ethics professor emeritus) and his daughter Laura (USU professor in the Heravi Peace Institute and Department of Communication) will help us work through some values clarification exercises and ways to talk across seemingly intransigent values conflicts in today’s fraught times.
Meet in person at CVUU or online through Zoom on Sunday at 10:00 AM.
