At our July 26 CVUU service, we will explore the recent transition by the UUA from our seven principles to “Our Shared Unitarian Universalist Values.” Building on the foundation of love, the UU values are generosity, transformation, equity, pluralism, interdependence, and justice. What is the reasoning behind this significant change? Specifically, what impact will this have on both our secular and church lives? Is there a meaningful distinction between our familiar and beloved principles and the newly proposed values?
