One of the core values of Unitarian -Universalist is to embrace and acknowledge our Interdependence; We honor the interdependent web of all existence. We covenant to cherish Earth and all beings by creating and nurturing relationships of care and respect. With humility and reverence, we acknowledge our place in the great web of life, and we work to repair harm and damaged relationships.
Ecosystems may be both resistant to and resilient in the face of change due to a complex interplay of factors. Resistance refers to an ecosystem’s ability to withstand disturbances, while resilience refers to its ability to recover and adapt after a disturbance. We will explore ways that, as a community, we can be resistant to rapid change in our local community and yet resilient and recover from disturbances. For ecosystems and our CVUU community, our resilience relies on diversity, functional redundancy, flexibility and a willingness to adapt to change while remaining interdependent. We will draw from the wisdom and spiritual knowledge of the native peoples to enlighten our path to resiliency. We will explore examples of resiliency and recovery to inspire our ongoing and future action.
Meet in person at CVUU or online through Zoom on Sunday at 10:00 AM.
