The book we are using as a guide is Joseph Goldstein’s “Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Awakening,” however the material includes such wide-reaching topics that they do not require a strict reading to participate. Please come ready to learn and discuss at any level of preparedness 🙂
This week’s chapter is chapter 4, “Concentration: The Collected Nature of Mind.”
“Receiving joy is another way to say enjoyment, and samadhi is the act of refined enjoyment. It is based in skillfulness. It is the careful collecting of oneself into the joy of the present moment. Joyfulness means there’s no fear, no tension, no ‘ought to.’ There isn’t anything we have to do about it. It’s just this.” – Ajahn Sucitto
All are welcome – hope to see you there!
