Our Elected Leaders
Cache Valley Unitarian Universalists is governed by a Board of Trustees that serve 3 year rotating terms. The purpose of the Board of Trustees is to set church policy and guide the vision and mission of the church. Board members may also serve as Action Team leaders.
The Cache Valley Unitarian Universalists Leadership Team
Jennifer Courtwright – Board President (Term 2014-2017) and Cache Community Connections liaison
Jennifer Courtwright has participated in UU congregations for 9 years and has been on the board of CVUU since the summer of 2014. She serves as the current board secretary and as a member of the religious exploration team. She is an aquatic ecologist at USU and has a strong interest in spiritual ecology and comparative world religious studies.
Jay Black – Board Secretary / Stewardship (Term 2014-2017)
Jay Black joined CVUU in 2003, upon retirement as an endowed professor of media ethics in Florida. He and his wife Leslie had returned to Logan to reconnect with old friends and really engage in a variety of community activities, having lived here from 1977-1987. They had joined UU churches in 1987 in Alabama and 1993 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Jay helped CVUU find a permanent place to call “home,” and served six years as president of the board from 2003-2009.
