Welcome Jessica Clay: Visiting UU Minister

For those of you not in attendance at the Membership Dinner, I announced that we will have a special guest minister this summer.

Jessica Clay will preach June 5, June 12, & July 3. Jessica has been a candidate for Fellowship with the UUA and a seminarian at Starr King School for the Ministry. She graduates this month with her Masters in Divinity.

She will be spending her summer in Salt Lake City. She has preached     extensively in churches in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Occupational therapy was her first career. She worked with children with special needs in the Los Angeles School District. While in seminary Jessica volunteered at San Quentin State Prison and Dublin Federal Women’s Prison, teaching courses on emotional literacy.

She also served as student body vice-president and student body president. Her tentative sermon titles (in order) are as follows: “Translations of Cheer,” “Growing with Conflict,” and “Conflicting Fireworks of Patriotism.”

We will send out fuller descriptions of these sermons as they approach. As usual, invite your friends. Let’s give Jessica a big CVUU welcome!
